Father's Day Craft Ideas

If your children are too young to shop for their dad or create things at school, we rounded up a bunch of really fun Father's Day crafts that you can do at home easily with your little one. There is nothing better than something handmade, especially from a little child! Our favorites are foot or handprint rocks, a grilling plate, and filling out a funny questionnaire.

Foot or Handprint Rock

This craft is a fun excuse to get outside for a quick walk to gather materials, followed by a sensory-friendly painting session with your toddler!

First, head out to the yard or a park and have your toddler find a smooth, flat rock that fits comfortably in their hand. Wash and dry it completely.

Set them up with some washable acrylic paint or paint pens. Let them paint the entire rock. If they are older toddlers, they can help glue on googly eyes or yarn for hair to turn the rock into a little character of Dad or themselves!

Finally, use a permanent marker to write "My Dad Rocks!" on the back, along with the year.

Your partner can put it on their desk, a shelf, or in a keepsake box to keep!

Grilling Plate

For something more useful than a decorative rock, get a large, ceramic, white plate for your toddler to decorate as a grilling plate! Bonus points if you incorporate our bubble blower by putting a few drops of paint into the bubble solution for bubble art.

Make sure to use acrylic enamel paint. Once complete, let the finished piece air-dry for a full 24 hours to allow all moisture to evaporate from the paint.

Then, place your piece inside a cold oven (you must resist a preheat!). Turning the oven on with the ceramic inside allows the piece to heat up slowly, preventing the ceramic from shattering from thermal shock.

Bake for 30-35 mins once it reaches 350°F. Turn the oven off and leave the door closed until the oven is completely cold.

Funny Questionnaire

Toddlers are hilarious, and their answers to these seemingly obvious questions can make for an amazing Father's Day gift.

There are many printables available online, such as this one.

Simply ask your toddler these questions out loud, write down their answers, and frame it for your partner for Father's Day.

Father's Day Gift Ideas

Not the crafty type? Here are some gift ideas your partner may not already have:

  • Heated jacket. Sure, it is summer, but a heated jacket tends to always be a win with guys! This is especially true if your partner rides a motorcycle or dirt bike, enjoys going to sports games during cold weather, or works outdoors.
  • Summer items. Prep your partner for summer with a gift basket full of summer items such as a cooling fan, electrolyte packets, sunglasses, and mess-free bubbles.
  • Charcuterie box or board. Don't want more stuff at home? Build your partner a Father's Day themed charcuterie box or board to enjoy on Father's Day.

Father's Day Outing Ideas

If your partner is more of an outing or experience type of guy, there are lots of fun things you can plan for Father's Day aside from a simple restaurant visit.

Outdoor Summer Fun

Pack up the kids, car, and head to the beach! Grab your toddler-friendly bubble blower to keep your little ones near you and entertained while you enjoy the summer sun and ocean waves!

Family-Friendly Brewery

Many breweries are family-friendly these days with lots of space for little ones to run around, play games, and make friends. If you have a family-friendly brewery in your area, it is very likely that they are putting on a Father's Day event, as well!

Sports Game IOU

If your partner is a sports lover, grab tickets for a game! Many teams do special Father's Day events that you can still get tickets for, or get them tickets to another game as an IOU.
